Since its introduction more than 30 years ago, Audio-Technica's pioneering moving coil OC9 cartridge series has been prized by demanding vinyl listeners and professional critics alike for its musical transparency, expression of sound and precise construction.
The AT-OC9XSL cartridge replacement for the AT-OC9ML Mk III has the Special Line Contact diamond profile as featured in the flagship ART1000, offering the ultimate in sonic reproduction with a sense of space and realism to all instruments that few other configurations can achieve. The Special Line Contact profile provides for low record and stylus wear and the higher dynamic compliance enables this cartridge to be used on low to medium mass tonerarms:
• Nude Special Line Contact stylus and boron cantilever
• A neodymium magnet and permendur yoke for increased magnetic energy
• Threaded inserts in the cartridge body to enable the cartridge to be mounted on to the headshell or integral tonearm with just two screws
• Aluminium body mimimises unwanted vibration for reduced resonance and a superior audio reproduction
• Pure Copper by OHNO Continuous Casting (PCOCC) process is used for the coils to achieve the purest signal possible
